Frequent Updates:
Tutors, class teachers and the pastoral team use email, phone calls and home visits to regularly update parents and carers about their child's progress. We also use Arbor to communicate important school messages.
Curriculum Meetings:
The school will call a curriculum meeting to discuss a range of issues relating to pupil progress in the curriculum. These may include concern about engagement with learning, choices for Key Stage 4, career choices, or simply to celebrate excellent progress.
The School Fete:
We encourage our parents and carers to attend this event to see the pupils in action. They can use this opportunity to look at their child’s work.
Reports:
We provide a comprehensive report of pupil progress twice a year. This includes feedback on academic and vocational progress, progress made against EHCP targets and progress in engagement in enrichment activities and /or interventions.
Senior Leadership Team
Our SLT is available to discuss any issues that our parents and carers may have.
Pastoral team
The pastoral team plays a huge role in our commitment to developing good, positive and effective home /school communication. We have a pastoral manager, assistant pastoral manager and family liaison worker and a group of Emotional Literacy Support Assistants who are committed to keeping the lines of communication well and truly open.
We recognise that in some situations, parents would like to discuss their child at other times. They are welcome to contact the school through the front office, family liaison, or class teacher to arrange an appointment.
Any questions should be raised initially with the class team.
